Reporting an Outage

URECC members have several convenient options to report a power outage.

How to Report an Outage

During major storm events or widespread outages, co-op phone lines can quickly become overwhelmed, with hundreds or even thousands of members calling simultaneously. Following the steps below ensures your outage is reported efficiently—saving you time and helping URECC respond faster.

  • Use the SmartHub Mobile App Download the free URECC SmartHub app from the App Store or Google Play to report outages and monitor account activity.
  • Online via SmartHub Visit https://urecc.smarthub.coop/ui/#/login to log into your SmartHub account and report the outage.
  • Text “OUT” to 855-939-3744 This option works only if your account has a single meter. If multiple meters are linked to your account, URECC cannot determine which location is affected.
  • Call URECC at 903-680-2100 or 1-866-804-1674

URECC works hard to deliver reliable electric service at the lowest possible cost, but outages can still occur due to weather, accidents, or other events beyond our control. If your power goes out, take these steps before reporting:

Check with Neighbors

If all of your power is out, ask neighbors whether they still have electricity. This can help determine if the issue is widespread or isolated to your property.

Check Your Breakers or Fuses

If only part of your home is affected, the issue may be with your own breakers, fuses, or wiring. In that case, you may need to contact a licensed electrician.
