Power Outage Update

Across the service territory
Posted on April 25, 2026

***URECC MEMBERS- POWER OUTAGE UPDATE***

Crews are making good progress getting power back on after last night’s severe storms. They continue working as quickly and safely as possible to restore service to all members. At this time, just over 4,200 members remain without power.

As conditions have improved and daylight increases, we will gain a clearer understanding of the extent of the damage and the work ahead. So far, crews have primarily encountered downed power lines, trees, and limbs.

Please remember: if you come across a downed power line, always assume it is energized and extremely dangerous. Stay at least 35 feet away at all times.

***As a reminder, when you have an outage or any type of service issue, please report it through the SmartHub app or by calling 903-680-2100.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as crews continue working to safely restore service.

Several URECC employees are now FAA-certified drone pilots. As part of our ongoing commitment to reliability and safety, we will be using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to proactively monitor our system.
These UAVs are strictly used as a tool to monitor our system and help us continue providing the reliability our members have come to expect. They allow us to identify potential issues before they become problems, such as overhanging trees along rights-of-way and other infrastructure concerns. They will also play a critical role during storm restoration efforts, allowing us to quickly assess damage and respond more efficiently.
When working in the field, our drone pilots will be wearing neon yellow safety vests labeled “FAA Certified Drone Pilot – Do Not Disturb” on the back, along with hard hats displaying the URECC logo. If you see them at work, we kindly ask that you allow them to perform their duties without interruption.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Member Services team at 903-843-2536. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
