Several URECC employees are now FAA-certified drone pilots. As part of our ongoing commitment to reliability and safety, we will be using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to proactively monitor our system.
These UAVs are strictly used as a tool to monitor our system and help us continue providing the reliability our members have come to expect. They allow us to identify potential issues before they become problems, such as overhanging trees along rights-of-way and other infrastructure concerns. They will also play a critical role during storm restoration efforts, allowing us to quickly assess damage and respond more efficiently.
When working in the field, our drone pilots will be wearing neon yellow safety vests labeled “FAA Certified Drone Pilot – Do Not Disturb” on the back, along with hard hats displaying the URECC logo. If you see them at work, we kindly ask that you allow them to perform their duties without interruption.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our Member Services team at 903-843-2536. Thank you for your cooperation and support.
